THE non-negotiable skill

Hey friend,

So, I was sad last night because I had planned to send a this letter to you earlier but my laptop messed up and I lost most of my files and saved documents.

All my writing practices and practice copy just gone like that. So I had to reschedule and write a new one this morning.

I don't know why there is something new happening almost every week like I am being tested but anyway we move.

I did oh, but through snap chat stories on my bed this morning... Hehehe.

In today's letter I am going to nag you about why you should love selling and learn it even if you hate it.😒😂

Why?

Becasue that is the only thing that will put money in your pocket forever.

A short story...

About 3 days ago, I was talking to someone who was interested in starting an online business specifically the amazon kdp. He was interested but he was also too scared to start.

and when I asked why?

This was what he had to say...

He said that he had tried so many ''businesses'' online that required money to start and they all fell through. None of them worked despite the money he had invested in them.

And since then,

He had been skeptical about anything online. And I asked what online businesses he had tried in the past and he mentioned those things where you like, share or read pages, videos and sites for money.

I laughed😂😂

Cuz I have been there before...

The one I did involved me liking 5 tik tok videos everyday for 200 naira and I was feeling myself, feeling like a superstar😭 and thought I was making money until one day I opened the site and o ti lo.

And you know the funny thing, it was a very close family member of mine that introduced this kind of thing to me twice and I fell for it like a mumu!

But,

This is where I and my friend in the story were both wrong and this has been one of my biggest revelation this year.

You see,

All these schemes and even ponzi do not involve selling. To make money, legit money, you must offer something valuable in exchange for money. The sites we liked and video we shared was not adding value to anybody or helping anybody solve a problem.

Nothing was being exchanged for the money. We were putting our money there to be circulated back to us. same with ponzi schemes

They call it ''investments''. But think about it. this money I am putting where is it going to and who is even paying me for this liking and sharing that we are doing and how is this even going to help anybody.

Since then, anything that does not involve exchange of something tangible for money, I no dey put my head.

Now, we have established the fact that it is only selling something that can give you money forever.

what  exactly do you sell?

You can sell your:

-skill

-time 

-idea

-knowledge

-Talent

-physical products and helpful services.

Think of any rich person right now. Done? What do they have in common?

Let me save you the trouble... They are selling something.

-Musicians sell their talent. Rihanna is a musiian that sells her talent and cosmetic products.

-Dangote sells sugar and spaghetti like papa Emeka across the street.

-a Copywriter and graphics designer sell their skills.

-How about workers and people that have jobs? Yes, even them. They sell something even more precious - Their time (time they will never get back)

Everybody successful person you and I know is selling something except if he or she is a fraudster.

What makes the difference?

The only difference between Rihanna and the struggling ig vendor that sells make up is that one knows how to market and sell and the other does not.

The only difference between a successful copywriter and an unsuccessful copywriter is that one knows how to market and sell and the other does not.

Mind you,

it is not enough to just learn a skill. You need to learn how to sell that skill.

You can be the greatest copywriter or designer in the world but nobody will ever know that because you do not know how to market and sell yourself and your skill.

whereas, someone who is not as smart as you is making millions simply because he knows how to sell.

Selling is a skill and like every other skill, it must be learnt. No one was born with great selling skills.

Even if you decide not to have any skill. selling is a non negotiable skill you must learn if you wan to make a lot of money and have freedom at your finger tips.

and if you do decide to learn a skill of your choice, make sure you add selling to the list.

 In the course of our time together, I will be sharing all I know and I have learnt about selling and with time, you will come to love it and use it to your advantage to build an empire of your own, using what I share with you.

But only if you take action!

And as you ponder on that, be determined to learn how to sell whatever it is.
