Why People don't buy

Friend,

If you are into business, this is probably one of the questions that keeps you up at night.

It has always been a bother to me.

What could I possibly be doing wrong?

Why do my customers pull away and not buy or buy from someone else?

And you are just stuck with those questions and no answer.

Listen..

There are a couple of reasons why people don't buy from you:

It could be because of:

-lack of trust

-they don't need what you are selling

-they don't have the money for it

-You haven't been able to convince them enough/ handle their objections

- You are just not talking to enough people that may be interested in what you are selling

-or you are talking to the wrong prospect

I could list more but let me stop here as I find that these are the most common reasons people do not buy.

In future emails, I will be talking about each of these issues one at a time but lets start with the first one...

Lack of trust...

A short story.

Last year, I wanted to sign up for a coaching programme.

I reached out to someone I did not know to learn how to go about it (through an ad I saw)

Apparently I had to pay through him to get access to the programme. ( he was an affiliate for the programme.)

Fine and good. I was ready to pay.

But then...

I also found out that my friend was also an affiliate for that same course and I decided to get it through her..

It wasnt an easy decision because I felt like I was letting the first person down. But it felt more secure to go with my friend because I had known her longer

and trusted her more to guide me than someone I met two days ago.

Lesson?

A lot of people are trying to sell the same thing you are also trying to sell, so why should they go wih you?

One way to have an edge over your competitors is by building trust with them( prospects).

Imagine this...

we meet for the first time today and you are already asking me for money.

How do you think I would react?

That's how some business owners approach their customers. And it is not their fault most of the time. They just see other marketers like themselves do it and they copy.

But if you want to makes sales easily, you have to go about it the right way.

-You can build trust with your propects by:

-building relationships with them. Get them to know you and let them feel you can atually help them solve a problem they are having

-share relatable stories

-listen to them more than you speak

-ask helpful questions

You see,

selling to people is more about helping and building relationship and trust with them.

It is one thing to sell to someone once and it is another thing to sell to them over and over again.

Which would you want? A quick sale or being able to retain a customer and making them buy from you over and over again

The answer is obvious. That is one of the benefits of getting your prospects to know, like and trust you enough to do business with you.

One book I will reommend on this is How to win friends and influence people.

You will learn the basics of how to handle relationships and getting strangers to like you and trust you with this book.

Hope this helps.

Till next time friend!
