Rigging
You probably laughed at the subject of this email...lol
You will agree with me that, that is the word of the week. And if you are a Nigerian, Gen Z or not, I am sure you know why.
I am also sure you have spent the past few days in front of the tv switching between Arise Tv and Channels Television and other social media apps just to keep up with the just concluded elections, which could either break or restore Nigeria.
Same reason I couldn't write to you for a while. I have literally been having sleepless nights until I woke up one morning to bad news of who was declared the next president...lol
So let me ask you this. Did you like the outcome of this elections?
What was your best experience this elections?
I would love to hear your reply.
For me, It is a hard freaking NO! and My best experience would be counting the votes at the different Polling Units. It definitely felt good.
But if you think about it,
The massive rigging that took place in these elections also happens close to home. Especially in businesses( offline or online).
Deceit here and there just so you can make money off a prospect no matter the means.
Some entrepreneurs do not really care about their prospects or if they can really solve their prospects problem. They are really just after that money.
And you see,
That's where most entrepreneurs get it wrong.
Yes, you may make a few bucks after deceiving and lying or manipulating your customers and you are happy and proud with yourself thinking you have outsmarted them, but what about the long run in the future?
What do you think that customer will say of you?
Do you think you can restore the trust between you and your customers?
Do you think customers will refer you after deceiving them and treating them badly?
Do you even think you would be able to keep that business for long?
The moment you see your business as an opportunity to help other people get what what they want, it changes everything.
See entrepreneurship as way to help people and get money in return, not by deceiving people just to make the money anyhow ( just like this current government did), because it will definitely backfire.
And one of the hardest thing to recover from is a broken and bad reputation.
The trust it took you months to build will be broken in seconds.
The customers that could have become friends will be back to strangers.
The customers that could have become your loyalist and sing your praises would be cursing at you like I am cursing at Buhari right now.
So before you inflate that price, or not deliver on your promises to your customers, be ready for what lies ahead.
Listen closely,
It is very possible to run a business and be honest and transparent. And because most people are deceitful in business, being open and transparent is one sure way to build a unique brand, stand out, and retain customers, who keep patronizing you and make you more money.
The change we want, starts with us.
That’s it for today friend
Till next time
Remain a baller
